Canadian Immigration | Inmigración a Canadá
Many employers want to hire local workers, but have trouble filling vacancies. A Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) is a document that an employer in Canada may need to get before hiring a foreign worker.
A positive LMIA will show that there is a need for a foreign worker to fill the job. It will also show that no Canadian worker or permanent resident is available to do the job.
Determine which type of Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) application you should submit to hire a temporary foreign worker (TFW):
The wage being offered for the position will determine if you need to apply for an LMIA under the Stream for High-wage Positions or the Stream for Low-wage Positions, each one with their own requirements.
If you are offering a wage to a temporary foreign worker that is:
Hire a Temporary Foreing Agricultural Worker – You can only hire a temporary foreign agricultural worker in occupations and activities related to primary agriculture.
Support a foreign worker in their Permanent Resident stream. Employers who wish to hire skilled foreign workers and support their permanent resident visa application through Express Entry system.
If you have not identified the ideal candidate for the position you are offering, we also can help you to apply for an unnamed LMIA.
Overall, whether you already know a good candidate who is a foreign worker willing to do the job offered or not, we can help you to go through this process from start to finish.

Some employers want to recruit and retain in-demand workers for positions that can’t be filled from the domestic labour pool. These employers must meet essential requirements depending on the province of the company.
Each province and territory have its own “streams” (immigration programs that target certain groups) and requirements for PNP Programs. For example, in a program stream, provinces and territories may target:
· students
· business people
· skilled workers
· semi-skilled workers
One of the general requirements to provide to a foreign national is a job offer, which must be full-time, indeterminate, offer a wage in line with industry standards, among other specifications. Also, the company needs to submit a declaration form and other documents.
Many foreign workers have the skills and talents to help your business grow. Also, they can bring cultural richness and speak languages other than English. This ability can help your business connect with new markets, customers, and prospective employees.
In Camacho Immigration, we help you throughout this process with the province you qualify for. Also, we work together with the temporary foreign worker in their requirements and representation for a Permanent Residency application at the provincial and Federal level, whether through Express Entry or a Provincial nominee program non-Express Entry category.
